In Ukraine, printed copies of souvenir banknotes that are not means of payment. The new product intended for sale to collectors, unlike standard paper Ukrainian money, contains vertical images on both sides. The banknote was issued in honor of Leonid Kadenyuk, the first Russian cosmonaut who went into space during the time of independent Ukraine. The portrait of the cosmonaut is located on the obverse, next to it you can see a miniature rocket taking off. Under the portrait – the years of Kadenyuk's birth and death: 1951-2018. On the reverse side, the Central part is occupied by a large image of the American Shuttle Columbia, on which Kadenyuk went into space in 1997. In total, 50 thousand such banknotes were issued.

The cosmonaut was part of the STS-87 international team that conducted various experiments during the mission. Kadenyuk, who was a candidate of technical Sciences, participated in experiments studying the effects of microgravity on plant life.
