In the mid-60s of the last century, the ruler of Morocco was king Hassan II, who came to power after his father, Mohammed V. During his rule, there were political unrest in the country, and there were arrests of opposition leaders and workers who opposed the authorities. After declaring independence from France in 1956, Morocco joined the UN, the IMF, and the Arab League. This is what the country looked like in the middle of the last century.
