What the Dutch artist Van Gogh looked like, we know thanks to his self-portraits. Images of the painter created by other artists are very rare. This meager list of paintings was supplemented by the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The drawing is kept in the collection of the Hiroshima Art Museum.

In the painting by Toulouse-Lautrec, you can see a small human figure in a hat, located to the left of the column. Despite the fact that Van Gogh's clothes usually looked poor, in this drawing the artist is dressed elegantly. This discovery was announced by the employee of the Van Gogh Museum Louis van Tilborg. The drawing shows a scene from life in the cabaret "Mirliton", where Van Gogh probably often was a visitor. Just below is another recognizable face – Toulouse-Lautrec itself. Other characters are avant-garde poets.

On the bench depicted is the author's signature, which is an encrypted surname: the word "Lautrec" is turned into "Treklo". The drawing, made in 1886, shows the typical nightlife of Paris at that time.
