The traveler and photographer John Thomson (1837-1921) visited different parts of the world, taking pictures not only of his native places, but also went to the Far East to capture the artifacts of eastern cultures. After returning home from a trip, Thomson immersed himself in the life of London, opened a portrait studio, and in 1876-1877 took many pictures that can be considered one of the first shots in photojournalism. In these photos, we see Victorian London and its inhabitants.
