French collector Francois Pinault has realized his dream by opening his own museum in Paris. For many years, the billionaire wanted to present a collection of works of modern art in a special building. At first, he planned to build a large concrete building on the island, a few kilometers from the Eiffel Tower. This project could not be implemented, but the Pinot Museum still opened – there is a new cultural institution near the central metropolitan area of Les Alles.

Pinot placed his collection in the building of the old Trading exchange, allocating 160 million euros for the renovation of the premises. The structure has the shape of a cylinder, its height is 9 meters, its diameter is 33 meters. Japanese architect Tadao Ando worked on the implementation of this project. During the adaptation of the building for the exhibition area, the original structure was not radically changed, since it is included in the list of cultural heritage.

The Pinot collection includes more than 10 thousand works created by more than 380 artists, including Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Marlene Dumas. The exhibition includes photographs, sound installations, paintings and sculptures, and video productions. For the opening of the museum, Pinot himself chose the works that he wanted to see.
