October 15: a gift to the Kiev Brotherhood, the shooting of Mata Hari and the "Great Dictator" Chaplin

On October 15, 1615, a nobleman from Kiev Galka Gulevichevna, with numerous witnesses, presented her hereditary land with a manor on Podol to the Kiev Brotherhood. The condition of the deed of gift was the construction of a monastery in this land, a hospital, a refuge for pilgrims, as well as a school for children of the nobility and burghers. Over time, the Kiev brotherly school grew into the famous Kiev-Mohyla Academy.

1880 - 632 years after the laying of the first stone, the construction of the Cologne Cathedral was completed - the Roman Catholic Gothic cathedral, which now ranks third in the list of the highest churches in the world and is listed as a World Cultural Heritage Site.

1989 - Canadian ice hockey player from “Los Angeles Kings” Wayne Gretzky, gaining 1,850 points, breaking the record of the legendary Gordie Howe, against his former team “Edmonton Oilers”. Gretzky retired from big sport in 1999, setting three new records - 894 goals, 1963 assists (2857 points).
