In the spring of 2017, an American schoolboy Calel Langford found a 7.44-carat diamond in Arkansas State Stone Park. This find has become one of the largest in the last few years in the United States.

The stone, found by a 14-year-old guy, was the seventh largest diamond found in the park since its discovery in 1972. It is the largest coffee-colored diamond found over the past 40 years.

According to information provided by the park’s management, Calel Langford found it among the stones by the stream. He called it the Superman diamond and promised to keep it as a souvenir. In appearance it is a quadrangular stone the size of a bean. The cost of the find at the time of discovery was not reported by the park management.

The largest diamond ever found in the United States is a diamond found in Arkansas in the same rock park in 1924. His name is Uncle Sam, weighing 40.23 carats.

The Diamond Crater State Stone Park in Arkansas covers an area of almost 370 hectares. On its territory is a field of 15.2 hectares, where visitors themselves can try to look for precious stones.

If the guest manages to find an expensive stone, he can keep the find. This park is the only diamond mine in the world that is open to visitors.

The Diamond Crater has been known as a gemstone deposit since 1906, and in 1972 a state park was created on this territory.
