During the excavations of the city of Pompeii, archaeologists dug up a treasure, which, in all probability, belonged to the witch. Talismans, glass beads, crystals, amethysts and other artifacts were found in a wooden chest located in the ruins of a room filled with human remains. Most of these things were used in rituals and had to be protected from misfortune.

Since there are no gold objects among the items found, they may have been owned by a servant or slave. Artifacts are an important finding, because they give an idea of the everyday life of that distant time, when the eruption of the volcano killed an entire city. Now scientists are trying to determine whether there are any family ties between those whose bodies were found in the ruins.
