Grim find: Peru found the site of a large-scale sacrifice

In Peru, archaeologists have unearthed the remains of 227 tel. According to scientists, these were the children of the representatives of the Chimu culture, which brought in sacrifice to the gods. All the bodies were buried with their heads towards the sea. On some of them managed detect the remnants of skin and hair. Perhaps the reason for the sacrifice was an attempt to pacify the weather phenomenon of El niño, which led to heavy rains. The sacrifice took place in 1200-1400.

Some of the skeletons were found last year, when the excavations began. Continuing to study the area, the scientists found the rest of the bones. Archaeologists suggest that not all skeletons have been found, and new finds are waiting for them.
