Near the city of Newport, USA, marine archaeologists have discovered the remains of the ship "Endeavour", owned by James cook. Back in 2016, scientists identified the site of the sinking of the ship, but only now managed to explore the bottom in more detail and study the wreckage.
It was on the "Endeavour" that cook set out on his voyage to the shores of New Zealand and Australia. Four years later, the ship was sold to a French merchant, and later she was used as a whaling ship. There are also references to the fact that it transported slaves. According to one version, "Endeavour" severely damaged a British ship, and eventually the ship was buried in Newport.
According to archaeologists, the find is in very poor condition, but after cleaning it is likely it will be able to raise to the surface.
