In the city of Grodno (Belarus), on the territory of the New castle, researchers found an ancient signet, which probably belonged to Prince Vladimir Monomakh. Many centuries ago, such lead seals were clamped on the laces that were attached to letters.

On one side of the subject depicts Basil of Caesarea (Basil of Caesarea), who was considered the patron Saint of Prince Monomakh. On the other side there is a text in the old Russian language, which expressed the wish of God's help. Seals of this type were made in the late period of the reign of the Prince, namely after 1113. In 1116 Vladimir Monomakh gave his daughter Agafya for the ruler of the Principality of Gorodno, Vsevoloda Davidovich.
