During the excavation of an ancient synagogue in the city of Malopolsk (Poland), archaeologists found a wooden chest, in which they found about 350 different items. There were candlesticks, silver bowls, individual items for chandeliers, dishes, and more. The last owners of these items carefully Packed the artifacts in a chest 130 cm long, 70 cm wide and 80 cm high. Despite the fact that the wood has decayed, the contents are well preserved.

Since the items belong to different ages, it was not easy to determine the time when the chest was hidden. Most of the finds were made in the XIX century, and badges of officers ' caps with the initials of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph were also found. Hats could definitely get into the chest at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries.

The synagogue, located in Malopolsk, was built in the second half of the XVIII century. the Temple is located in an area that previously belonged to the Jewish community. In 1914, the city was occupied by Russian troops after the retreat of the Austro-Hungarian army. During the Second world war, the structure was destroyed, and the remaining premises were used as a warehouse.
