Coin 200 years of the Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory

We often tell our readers about Ukrainian coins made of precious metals. But today we will talk about a coin issued from nickel silver on February 10, 2021 and dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Nikolaev Astronomical Observatory. On the obverse of the coin there is an image of the observatory building, on the reverse - astronomical and navigation devices. The achievements of Ukrainian scientists in all branches of knowledge in the past were known to the whole world. The current state of Ukrainian science due to lack of funding leaves much to be desired. Perhaps this is what the developers of the coin wanted to emphasize by releasing it from a base metal. Or to give the opportunity to purchase a copy of any astronomer without compromising the family budget.
