Those collectors who are eager not only for interesting and profitable purchases, but also appreciate the spiritually significant exhibits in their collection, can pay attention to the coin "Oranta" (from Lat. orantis - praying), with the iconographic type of the Mother of God. Oranta is depicted in full height with her hands raised to the level of her face and her palms turned towards the viewer. Orants were depicted in the IX–XIII centuries in monumental painting and on icons of Byzantium and Ancient Russia. In particular, the figure of Our Lady of Oranta is the main mosaic of the central asp of the church of St. Sophia of Kiev. Sofia of Kiev and Oranta are represented on the obverse and reverse of the coin. The nominal value is 125 hryvnia, the coin was minted from 999 gold in 1997, the weight is 7.78 grams.
