On the territory of the Viminacium in Serbia, scientists stumbled upon an untouched Roman sarcophagus. They dated the find about the 3rd century AD.

"Finding a sarcophagus, unprotected and not looted over the past centuries, is a great rarity, not only in Serbia, but also in other countries. Even in ancient times, the robbers knew: in such bury the wealthy people, with rich funeral gifts and expensive personal things, "explained Miomir Korach, director of the Institute of Archeology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and head of the excavations in Vininatsium.

Among other things, archaeologists have found three glass vessels, four bronze coins, gold earrings and a ring, a necklace, a silver mirror and hairpins.
