Revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara was born June 14, 1928 in the Argentine city of Rosario. He became one of the leaders of the Cuban Revolution, an idol of radical youth and a saint in Bolivia.

After 3 years of fighting and being in government positions, Ernesto Che Guevara left Cuba in 1965. First he appears in the Congo, then in Bolivia where in 1966 he begins guerrilla warfare with the local pro-American regime. However, the revolutionary did not take into account that his fighters did not have popular support. Bolivia was far from being Cuba, the local population helped to drive his revolutionary army into the jungle.

The artist Syro Bustos gave the government troops the seat of Che Guevara. October 8, 1967 spetsnaz attacked the camp in the gorge Jura. Ernesto was wounded, his rifle smashed with a bullet. But the commandant was able to capture only when the cartridges of Che were out of ammunition.

Wounded Che Guevara was taken to the building of a rural school in the town of La Iguera. It is still unknown who gave the order to shoot the wounded prisoner, because the President of Bolivia, René Barentos Ortonio, denied his permission. The verdict was executed by Sergeant Mario Teran. Seeing how the weapon is shaking in the hands of the military, Che said: "Shoot! You'll just kill a man!"

Che Guevara's body with amputated hands was put on public display. And then something unexpected happened. Residents of the towns of La Iguera and Valgrande are struck by the violence that Guevara was considered an analogue of the saint. In prayers, San Ernesto de La Higuera still refers to him, which means "Saint Ernesto of La Iguera".
