What did the first aviators look like?

In November 1901, a competition of aircraft was held at the velodrome in Paris.

These inventions had little to do with modern air transport. But each participant was able to contribute to the development of aviation.

Note that the stadium, where the demonstration of these inventions was once held, still exists. It hosted 2 finals of the 1960 European Football Championships.
