Straw hats and loose jackets: fashion trends in the spring of Lviv in 1929

The first month of spring ended successfully. Though he was pleased with the heat only occasionally, it did not prevent women from all over the world, including Ukrainians, from looking at fashion spring trends. With the help of the once popular Lviv magazine "Nova Hata" we invite you to see what was worn in 1929.
This edition has been published since 1925. His main goal was the formation of home culture. There were published news of cultural and social life and sports. But the so-called practical part of the magazine was especially desirable for residents of Lviv: advice on housework and choice of clothes.
All sorts of costumes from similar or combined materials were considered fashionable. As a rule, different types of wool were used. It was also used in dresses, but silk was more valued.
Do not forget about accessories: scarves, caps, belts. Scarves were knitted in front or pinched with the help of flat rings. The hats, small and smooth, were decorated with modest ties or buckles. Belts were worn just below the waist.
The shoes were mostly light and dark. Stockings in color should match her.
Spring 1929 compared with the previous season did not bring major changes. The style of dresses practically did not change, except in some details. The lower parts became a little longer and wider. Folds, contrails, extensions in the form of bells appeared.
The most fashionable colors were considered garnet, black, black and white combinations and all shades of red.
Of course, the difference with current trends is obvious. But the charm, sense of style and desire to look fashionable, women of the past does not hold.
