Metal detector, as the name implies, helps to detect any metal objects. Some devices "see" even small metal inclusions in objects. But not everyone knows for sure that it is impossible to find it with a metal detector. Let's understand this.

Metal detectors do not “see” elements with low conductivity or with no such quality at all. In fact, the device produces an electromagnetic field, and then catches waves reflected from conducting objects. If there is nothing to be reflected, there will be no signal.

So, what can not be found with a metal detector:

- pearls;
- gems;
- paper money;
- stone figures;
- glass;
- plastic items.

Of course, pearls or precious stones can be rimmed with metal. In this case, they can certainly dig out. But it should be understood that precious stones are often found in the rock with such conductive minerals as magnetites, olivines, chrome grenades, and so on.

And do not forget that not all metal detectors cope with highly mineralized soils (magnetic, salty), heavily littered with iron rubbish soils, not all are well looking for gold because of their properties and low operating frequency.
