We continue to publish hryvnias of the Novgorod type found on the territory of Ukraine and exhibited on Violity. Part first part second a> and part third contain descriptions of this type of hryvnia, the difference between this type of hryvnia and the Kiev hryvnia types and illustrations of interesting specimens.

In the new article, as in the previous ones, hryvnias and poltinas are presented. Particularly interesting, of course, are specimens with graffiti. These are short marks in the form of letters and symbols, which indicated either the ownership of a given hryvnia or its origin (from whom it was received or in repayment of which debt it was received). Each such inscription is unique and is the most valuable evidence of medieval history.

All types of hryvnias and coins of pre-Petrine Rus are presented in this section.
