We have already talked about florins, gold guilders, and ducats. Users of Violity, of course, are interested in what you can buy on this site. Let's look in chronological order at the collectible items that went to the lucky ones at the beginning of the spring season. And we will start with the ducat of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, which became a sovereign principality of the Holy Roman Empire in 1278 and existed until 1803. The Archdiocese was very active in minting ducats, thalers, and coins of smaller denominations, which can often be purchased on Violity. In different periods, they were in monetary circulation on the modern territory of Ukraine.

The next coins that we will present will be Hungarian ducats, minted by the Holy Roman emperors at the mint of the city of Kremnitz from the gold of the local deposit. This gold for many years was considered the best in quality in Europe. The ducats were minted by the Emperors Rudolf II in 1586 and Leopold I in 1671, respectively. On the reverse, the most characteristic plot of the Hungarian ducats is a Madonna and child, on the obverse - a warrior in armor and with a sword. An earlier ducat from 1586 shows Saint Vladislav (Laszlo), who was depicted on the Hungarian ducats and guilders of the independent Kingdom of Hungary before the Battle of Mohac in 1526. A later ducat depicts the Holy Roman Emperor himself. The Hungarian ducats and the images on them were so popular that the knight story was borrowed by the provinces and cities of the Netherlands for their ducats. Several variants of Dutch ducats of the late XVI-XVII centuries, sold on Violity, we present to our readers.
